Just bought my first track from Apple - iTunes for Windows (song - The Ataris remake of Boys of Summer). Next up, some Jonny Lang, Powerman 5000, and Queens of the Stoneage.
The interface is a little clunky and slow, but the ease of buying songs makes up for that.
I feel like a kid in a candy store.
Posted by Curt Brown at October 16, 2003 04:21 PMIf you haven't checked out Rhapsody from listen.com you might want to check that out too as you can preview full songs, not just 30 seconds. Downside is it is a monthly subscription fee ($10/month) but you can get a 14 day free trial. The selection between iTunes and Rhapsody is very similar although I am noticing some newer material at iTunes. Launch days for software on the web is cool! :)
Posted by: TDavid at October 16, 2003 06:09 PMI had looked at Rhapsody, and a few others, but the monthly subscription was what held me back.
Sometimes I'm a tune download monster, then I go for a month or so with nothing. So the subscription model didn't work for me.
Plus, my wife just happened to leave me with a credit card (right by the PC, no less) yesterday, and when the anouncement was made, I just had to try it.
